Široki Brijeg – 10. listopada, održan je na Širokom Brijegu 2. simpozij »Stopama pobijenih« što ga priređuje Vicepostulatura postupka mučeništva »Fra Leo Petrović i 65 subraće« na čelu s vicepostulatorom fra Miljenkom Stojićem. Svrha simpozija je istraživati ubojstvo 66 hercegovačkih franjevaca tijekom i u poraću Drugog svjetskog rata da bi jednoga dana mogli biti proglašeni blaženima i svetima.
Program je započeo u 11.00 sv. misom u franjevačkom samostanu koju je predvodio gvardijan i član Povjerenstva Vicepostulature za prikupljanje i istraživanje građe fra Sretan Ćurčić. Sumisili su fra Ante Marić i fra Miljenko Stojić. Prostrana samostanska crkva bila je ispunjena do posljednjeg mjesta, a neki su ostali i vani. Gvardijan fra Sretan propovijedao je o zahvalnosti i o hercegovačkim pobijenim franjevcima. Pozvao je domaći puk i sve ljude dobre volje da i dalje čuvaju uspomenu na njih i na sve koji su tih godina nepravedno ubijeni.
2nd symposium "FOOTSTEPS SLAIN" held
Siroki Brijeg – On October 10th, was held in Siroki Brijeg second Symposium on "Footsteps of the slain" as it prepares Vicepostulatura procedure martyrdom "Father Leo Petrović and 65 brethren" led by vicepostulatorom fra Miljenko Stojic. The purpose of the symposium is to investigate the murder of 66 Franciscans of Herzegovina in the postwar period of the Second World War, so that one day could be beatified and the saints.

Odmah nakon sv. mise započela su predavanja na simpoziju. Prvo je održao fra Ante Marić, član Povjerenstva Vicepostulature za prikupljanje i istraživanje građe. Govorio je o »Stanju i djelovanju Hercegovačke franjevačke provincije tijekom i u poraću Drugog svjetskog rata«. Nakon njega nastupile su prof. dr. sc. Marija Definis Gojanović i doc. dr. sc. Davorka Sutlović. Njihova je tema bila »Sudska medicina i Drugi svjetski rat, s posebnim osvrtom na pobijene hercegovačke franjevce«. Zajedno sa svojim suradnicima one su, inače, 30. prosinca 2005., na odjelu Sudske medicine KBC Split, identificirale fra Melhiora Prlića. To je prva žrtva nekoga iz Drugog svjetskog rata identificirana pomoću DNK metode na području bivše Jugoslavije. Treće predavanje održao je Pero Kožul, pročelnik Povjerenstva za obilježavanje i uređivanje grobišta iz Drugog svjetskog rata i poraća na području općine Široki Brijeg. Govorio je o radu ovog povjerenstva kroz proteklo vrijeme.
Sudeći po licima i izjavama nazočnih simpozij je urodio plodom. Došli su bliže u doticaj s radom Vicepostulature i još bolje shvatili da pobijeni fratri i puk u Drugom svjetskom ratu i poraću nisu zaboravljeni, unatoč nebrige i nedemokratskog ponašanja vlasti s obje strane hrvatske granice.

Judging by the faces and the statements of those present symposium was a great success. They came closer in touch with the work Vicepostulature and better understand the monks and the people killed in World War II and the postwar period have not been forgotten, despite the neglect and undemocratic behavior of the authorities on both sides of the Croatian border.
